Paquito D'Rivera

Paquito D’Rivera defies categorization. He is celebrated both for his artistry in Latin jazz and his achievements as a classical composer. He has become the consummate multinational ambassador, creating and promoting a cross-culture of music that moves effortlessly among jazz, Latin, and Mozart.

His contributions to humanity as an award-winning musician and cultural ambassador include major achievements on behalf of democracy and human rights, which have taken him from humble roots in Cuba to reshaping Latin Jazz on the most visible stages of the world’s concert halls, festivals, and venues. Paquito’s legacy has transformed the field and established his place among the jazz giants of all time. His smooth saxophone tone and his frequent combination of Latin jazz and classical music have become his trademarks.

Isabel Noboa

Isabel Noboa founded Nobis Holding de Inversiones in 1997, and to date it stands as one of the largest and most innovative conglomerates of companies in Ecuador, with more than 5,000 employees. Daughter of Luis Noboa Naranjo, considered by many as the most important businessman in Ecuador in the 20th century, Isabel Noboa inherited both the entrepreneurial wit and a profound humanitarian and social sensibility.

In 1998, Fundación Nobis was born. Education is the only way to generate a sustainable and high-impact change in the lives of vulnerable populations, this being the central axis of Fundación Nobis. This premise has also been her inspiration to lead and bring together other visionary businessmen to create ‘Unidos por la Educación’, an alliance of private and public institutions, entities and people, without precedent in Ecuador. Through education, this alliance promotes social, environmental, economic, cultural and productive development, turning educational institutions into the agents of change in their communities and areas of influence.
